First ever three-day Bollywood extravaganza in South Africa

Thousands of people are expected to flock to South Africa's commercial hub of Sandton this weekend for the first ever three-day Bollywood Extravaganza featuring a wide range of activities.
"The Sandton Convention Centre and the streets surrounding it will come alive with Indian music, dance, fashion, cuisine and comedy as artists from India and South Africa team up to bring the best of Bollywood and all things Indian to diverse audiences, many of whom have likely never witnessed it before," said Osman Osman (sic), managing director of Blu Blood, an entertainment company that has brought some of India's leading singers to South Africa in recent years.
Besides a special fashion show by Indian designers, including Vikram Phadnis, Joy Mitraand Pawan and Pranav, the festival will also have performances by singers Sonu Nigam and Atif Aslam.
The festival which starts today with a Mela featuring score of stalls where exhibitors from India and South Africa will offer clothing, food and other items of Indian interest.
Comedy lovers can look forward to some of the best of comedians on the second day with the weekend culminating with the performance by Nigam and Aslam on Sunday evening.
The two singers will pay tribute to legendary singers from India and Pakistan.
