Five arrested, racket busted

With the arrest of five members of a gang, police here today claimed to have busted a racket involved in making fake land patta to help arrested accused persons to get bail.
Several fake land patta, at least 30 duplicate rubber stamps of different tehsil offices in Ganjam district, duplicate tax receipts, computer hardware and several others items were seized from their possession, police said.
"Some more persons are suspected to be involved in forgery of documents, making counterfeit rubber stamps and posing as security for the accused persons and help them to get release from jail in bail," said sub divisional police officer (SDPO), Berhampur Shantanu Das.
Investigation is on and other members of the racket will be nabbed soon, said the SDPO.
