In the chargesheet filed before Judicial Magistrate-IV, Madurai today, the Special Investigation Division of Crime Branch CID of Tamil Nadu Police named Fakhrudeen, Malik, Ismail, Abdullah and Thoufiq Ali in the case.
"They conspired to eliminate Suresh Kumar, as his activities were considered to be anti-Islamic by these accused," the CBCID said in a press release.
Police Fakhrudeen, Bilal Malik, Panna Ismail are also involved in the murders of Aravind Reddy in Vellore, Murugan in Paramakudi, Vellaiappan in Vellore, Auditor Ramesh in Salem, it said.
Suresh Kumar was murdered by five identifiable but unknown assailants on Netaji Road in Madurai in the late hours of June 26 last year.
With the help of a CCTV footage police arrested Abdullah and Ali in the case.
Following their confession statements, Fakhrudeen, Malik and Ismail were on the lookout for few months, before they were arrested in a storming operation at Puttur in Andhra Pradesh in October last year.
