The first incident, which left three dead and one injured, occurred between Pipri and Lakanpur villages under Indervelli police station limits last night when an electric wire fell on their vehicle here during immersion of Ganesha idols, Utnoor DSP Venkateshwarulu told PTI.
"Instead of using generators during immersion procession, the villagers were directly connecting wire to electric poles," he said.
"After the immersion programme got over, one of the live wire fell on a vehicle in which four people were travelling. Three of them succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to a hospital," the DSP said.
In another incident at Talamadu mandal in Kolamguda village a woman died due to short-circuit while a farmer in Kamalkot village was killed after he suffered an electric shock while working on the motor at his field, police said.
