District and Sessions Judge Vijay Luxmi has sentenced five persons -- Sandeep, Janeshwar, Jogesh, Bablu, and Bhartu --to life imprisonment and imposed a fine Rs 20,000 each after holding them guilty under section 302 of IPC yesterday.
The court has also ordered the five to pay Rs 80,000 to the family of the deceased, District Government Council Dushyant Tyagi said.
Inderpal, a doctor by profession, was beaten to death by the accused over a financial dispute in Rajpur village in Shamli district on April 13, 2010, he said.
