The mishap occurred in the wee hours when one Goverdhan and his family members were returning to their home in Jodhpur from Haridwar, SHO Bandarsindari Parasmal said.
The deceased were identified as Gordhan (44), his wife Pushpa (40), brother Kanaram (35), Kusum (45) and Manglaram (20), who died on the spot.
The eight injured were admitted to a local hospital in Kishangarh town from where they were referred to a Jodhpur hospital on request of the family members, he said.
