Wheat strengthens on restricted arrivals

Wheat prices went up by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased offtake by flour mills.
However, rice basmati turned weak on subdued demand at prevailing levels.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills in view of rising demand supported the upside in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) advanced by another Rs 10 to Rs 1,525-1,530 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by Rs 5 to Rs 1,530-1,535 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, rice basmati Pusa-1121 and common variety eased to Rs 7,400-9,400 and Rs 8,900-9,300 against last close of to Rs 7,600-9,500 and Rs 8,900-9,500 per quintal, respectively.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 8,900-9,300, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,400-9,400, Permal raw 2,150-2,200, Permal wand 2,200-2,300, Sela 2,600-2,700 and Rice IR-8- 1,800-1,850, Bajra 1,235-1,240, Jowar yellow 1,400-1,420, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,185-1,190, Barley 1,300-1,310.
