In the first incident, three persons were killed on the spot and two others injured when the truck they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck near the Aurai police station, Circle Officer Sushil Kumar said.
The deceased were identified as 23-year-old truck driver Devi Bind, Brijesh (28), and Ramakant (35).
In a separate incident in the same area, 30-year-old Shamim and 55-year-old Gulam Sarvar were killed when their scooter was hit by a truck, Kumar said.
The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem and a probe is on, he added.
