Five persons drown in Odisha

Five persons, including two girl students, drowned in rivers in four separate incidents in Odisha's Jajpur district, police said today.
While three persons including two girl students drowned after celebrating Holi yesterday, two others drowned on Thursday, they said.
The first incident occurred at Gandhana village when two girl students were bathing in Kharasrota river after celebrating Holi yesterday. The deceased have been identified as Atasi Behera (16) of Gandhana village and Soudamini Jena (15) of Barei.
The deceased were students of local High school and were appearing in the ongoing HSC examination, police said.
Fire brigade personnel from Chandikhole rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies.
Another incident took place at Haladibasanta when one Abhisek Choudhury (25) was bathing in Brahmani river after celebrating Holi.
Abhisek had come from station bazaar in Bhubaneswar to his uncle's house at Haladibasanta to celebrate Holi. His body was retrieved by fire brigade personnel, police said.
Earlier, two persons including a 12 year-old student drowned in two separate rivers on Thursday.
A Class VII student drowned in Kelua river while taking a bath at Bhubana. Similarly, another person of Badabanta village under Sadar police station limits in the district drowned while bathing in Kharasrota river, police said.
