Five UP dist jails declared sensitive, PAC roped in

Uttar Pradesh government has declared as sensitive five district jails and roped in Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) after an inspection found that the inmates were indulging in illegal activities.
Superintendent of Muzaffarnagar district jail Rakesh Singh said the authorities have declared Muzaffarnagar, Naini (near Allahabad), Luckhnow, Gorakhpur, and Agra district jails as sensitive and their internal and external security has been assigned to the PAC.
He said the security of the Muzaffarnagar prison has been handed over to the PAC since Thursday.
The PAC would keep an eye on the people coming to meet the inmates, he said.
It is learnt that during inspection of Muzaffarnagar jail mobile phones were seized from inside the prison and some of the inmates were allegedly involvedin demanding extortion money.
