Five-year-old raped and murdered in Ranchi

A five-year-old girl was raped and murdered in the Jharkhand capital, police said today.
"Post mortem report has confirmed that the girl was raped and strangulated to death," Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan told PTI here.
Her body was found in an under construction building near her house at Darjie Mohallah in Doranda police station here this morning, the SP said, adding, whoever had committed the crime would be handed out stern punishment.
The police have launched raids to catch the guilty.
Agitated locals demanded immediate arrest of the guilty as inconsolable relatives grieved at the baby's brutal torture after the girl went missing two days ago.

In a separate incident in Jamtara district of the state, two girls aged between 12 and 13 years were suspected to be raped and murdered, the police said.
The bodies of the girls with their limbs tied were found from a well near Kusmapahari village of the district, they said.
The girls had gone missing from their home on April 23, police said, adding, the bodies were sent for post mortem.
