"BJP condoles the death of these children. We demand that the government fix responsibility for this incident and strict action be taken against the guilty," party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
He pointed out that in the past also several complaints had been received about the quality of food served under the Mid-day meal scheme.
"Government should take appropriate measures so that such incidents are not repeated," Hussain said.
BJP General Secretary Murlidhar Rao also condoled the death of school children.
11 students died and 48 others fell ill today after consuming mid-day meal served to them at a government primary school in Bihar's Saran district.
