Fire officials in Greece say a 32-year-old man drowned on the island of Zakynthos after flash floods hit the island.
The fire service says heavy rains drenched both Zakynthos and the Greek capital of Athens on Saturday and yesterday, resulting in 470 emergency calls.
The man found drowned on Zakynthos had been missing for several hours. Twenty people stranded in cars on flooded streets also were rescued.
A major road in Athens was impassable for several hours Sunday. Most of the emergency calls involved flooded basements.
