Dense fog continued to disrupt normal life in most parts of Rajasthan for the second consecutive day today as Mount Abu recorded the lowest temperature at freezing point yesterday night.
Poor visibility affected transport as many trains had to be rescheduled while roads saw heavy traffic jams at many places.
Twenty-two trains were rescheduled and running late due to heavy fog in norhtern India covering Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, a North Western Railway spokesman said.
Jaipur-Delhi and Jaipur-Agra national highways witnessed traffic jams due to poor visibility, a state roadways spokesman said, adding that traffic was eased by afternoon.
Jaipur's skyline was covered with dense fog for the second consecutive day and recorded maximum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, and minimum of 11.5.
Upper layer of Nakki lake in Mount Abu, the sole hill station of the state, was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of zero degrees Celsius.
Udaipur recorded a minimum of 6.8 degrees Celsius followed by Jaisalmer 7.3, Ajmer 7.9, Chittorgrarh 8.3, Barmer and Bikaner 8.6 each, Jodhpur 9, Kota 9.6, and Ganganagar 11.3.
