Fog disrupts train services;Sikar shivers at 2.5 deg C

Icy winds accompanied with dense fog threw normal life out of gear in desert state of Rajasthan where rail and road services were hit as at least 28 trains were running behind the schedule.
A NWR spokesperson said that 28 trains have been running late in the state from 20 minutes to 15 hours.
Six trains were rescheduled, one Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi train was cancelled and two trains were partially cancelled on Delhi Sarai-Bikaner section.
Hawara-Sriganganagar train is running 15 hrs late followed by Allahabad-Jaipur train which is running 10 hrs late, and the Hawara-Jodhpur/Bikaner Express is running late by 9 hrs and Varanasi-Jodhpur train by 8:20 hrs.

Road transport was also hit in bordering states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh due to fog and passenger buses plying on Delhi-Jaipur, Jaipur-Bikaner, Bikaner-Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh, Jaipur-Agra via Alwar, Bharatpur were delayed by a couple of hours, a state roadways official said.
According to the MeT report, night temperature at all places in the state ranged between 4 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Dense fog prevailed in Jaipur, Pilani, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu and Srigangangar which affected normal life in the morning.
Sikar in the state was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius last night, a MeT report said.

Mount Abu on hills recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius followed by Pilani 4.8 deg C, Jaisalmer 5.4 deg C, Bikaner 5.8 deg C, Churu 6 deg C, Jaipur 6.6 deg C, Sriganganagar 7.9 deg C and Ajmer 8.5 deg C.
The MeT Department has predicted that fog and cold wave conditions would prevail in the state in next 24 hours.
