As Prime Minister Narendra Modi reconstituted the six Cabinet sub-committees, Food Minister Ramvilas Paswan does not figure in the crucial Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
Food Ministers in the previous regimes have been part of the CCEA but Paswan's name did not figure in the 11-member CCEA. His name was also not included in the three special invites to the CCEA, which is tasked with taking crucial economic decisions.
The CCEA, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh but Paswan's name was missing in the statement PIB released today.
Other members of the CCEA are Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Telecom & Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
Ministers of State with independent charges of Oil Dharmendra Pradhan, Power Piyush Goyal and Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman are special invitees to CCEA.
Paswan, who heads NDA ally Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), is however a member of the cabinet committees on Political Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs.
