For better tomorrow, raising water table essential: JK govt

Expressing concern over depleting water sources in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir government today said a well-knit strategy to raise the water table was need of the hour.
Chairing a review meeting of his department, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control minister Sham Lal Sharma called for strong initiatives to re-charge the ground water table.
"Water sources are constantly depleting and there is need for a well-knit strategy to raise the water table for a better tomorrow," he said.
The minister underlined the need for stepping up awareness campaign for judicious use of water.
