It had sold 11,805 units in March 2014.
Ford India's domestic sales were at 5,253 units last month, down 17.35% from 6,356 units a year ago, the company said in a statement.

Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India Executive Director Marketing, Sales and Service Anurag Mehrotra said: "With the economic recovery being slower than anticipated and a high interest rate and inflation environment, customers continue to defer their discretionary spends."
He, however, said: "Ford's faith in India's long-term growth prospects remains intact. We are continuing to invest in India's future growth potential."
In March, the company inaugurated its USD 1 billion integrated manufacturing facility at Sanand, Gujarat, the second manufacturing plant of the company after Chennai.
