According to Patel, Xi will be arriving in Ahmedabad on September 17 afternoon and will be there till night.
"She (Singh) was here to give final touches to the preparations and also give suggestions," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat from September 16 to welcome the Chinese President. Coincidentally, September 17 is also the 64th birthday of the PM.
Patel said that both the leaders will participate in a business meet at Grand Hyatt Hotel here, where country's top industrialists are likely to remain present.
During the meeting, MoUs between Gujarat and Chinese government will also be signed, Patel said without divulging any further details.
Accompanied by Modi, the Chinese President will also visit Sabarmati Ashram and the riverfront, Patel said adding that a dinner meet has also been organised at the riverfront for the leaders.
Xi and Modi will fly to Delhi on the same night, Patel said.
