Forest officials rescue elephant from water tank

A female elephant, which fell into a water tank, was rescued by the forest department officials near Valparai in the district today.
The elephant, along with its calf, was part of a herd numbering 20, which created havoc in the estate areas of Sincona for the last few days, had come to drink water from the tank.
However, it fell and started trumpeting, police said.
On information, the department officials rushed to the spot and managed to bring it up and sent to the jungles, they said.
