A former CPI(ML) worker was today shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Nadhi village in Bhojpur district, a police officer said.
Superintendent of Police Awakash Kumar said that the deceased, identified as 45-year old Ramakant Ram, was an accused in the killing of two persons associated with the Ranvir Sena in 2001.
CPI(ML) MLA from Tarari Sudama Prasad said, Ram was attacked when he stepped outside his house for answering nature's call.
The miscreants opened fire at him killing him on the spot, the police officer said.
Raids were on to nab the culprits, he said.
Angry over the incident, local residents and party workers were not allowing the police personnel to take away the body for post-mortem examination, police sources said.
