Former CPM MLA Gavit files papers for Dindori seat in Maha

Former MLA Jiva Pandu Gavit filed nomination for the Dindori Lok Sabha constituency in North Maharashtra as Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Friday.

The NCP has fielded Dhanraj Mahale from Dindori while the BJP's candidate is Dr Bharati Pawar, who joined the saffron party recently.

Sitting BJP MP Harishchandra Chavan, who had won the seat thrice in a row, was dropped this time.
