Former MP Hema Gamang today resigned from the BJD, citing negligence by the ruling party towards her constituency as one of the main reasons behind the decision.
Gamang, who is also the wife of former Odisha chief minister Giridhar Gamang, said: "Mentally, I had quit the party long ago. Today, I just sent my papers to BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik."
Asked if she was planning to join any other political outfit, Gamang said, "I have not decided about my next move now. I will think about it after holding a meeting with my well-wishers and supporters."
