An apolitical forum of citizens here has submitted a memorandum, addressed to the President, to the district administration demanding creation of a separate Vidarbha state out of Maharashtra.
Vidarbha Connect yesterday submitted the memorandum to Nagpur Additional Collector Punjabrao Wankhede, to be forwarded to the Rashtrapati Bhawan and also to Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan and Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
A large delegation of Vidarbha Connect members led by its president Mukesh Samarth urged Wankhede to forward the memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee at the earliest, a release from the forum said here today.
