"We had identified the GNLA cadres who are working as couriers and informers in Chokpot, Tura and Daddengre areas and they were arrested in operations today," IGP (Operations) G H P Raju said.
They were identified as Batchan T Sangma, Latdin M Sangma, Naibinath Ch Sangma, all of South Garo Hills district and Nalu T Sheik of Assam's Dhubri district, he said.
The police claimed the accused carried ration and other supplies on behalf of the GNLA.
Counter insurgency operations have also been beefed up in all five Garo Hills districts where the GNLA have carried out killings, kidnappings and extortion for the past five years.
The police have also announced a Rs 20,000 cash reward for any information leading to the rescue of its personnel Komraj Bhattarai who was abducted by the GNLA on November 6.
Bhattarai was returning to office after a long leave when he was abducted at gun point by the armed militant outfit in North Garo Hills district.
