Four hawkers run over in Burdwan town

Four hawkers were run over by a vehicle when they were sleeping on a road divider on the National Highway at Nababhat in Burdwan town early today, police said.
The four hawkers were sleeping beside the divider when they were run over, leaving three of them dead, while the fourth was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities, Burdwan Superintendent of Police S N H Mirza said.
The vehicle that ran them over has not been identified yet, he said.
He said that the police was trying to ascertain the identities of the four.
