A team of Local Crime Branch (LCB) raided a rented house in city's Akot File area yesterday where four persons were engaged in printing fake currency notes and recovered a laptop, two motorcycles, pen drives beside fake notes of face value Rs 40,200, district SP Chandrakishore Meena said.
The four members of the racket were identified as -- Sonu Mankar (22), Prashant Telgote (38), Shailesh Yadav (23) and Santosh Yadav (36).
The senior official said the place (where printing was done) used to be carefully guarded and one youth Sandeep Surosh tipped-off the police after he was lured by the gang to pay them Rs 40,000 and was assured Rs 1 lakh in return.
An offence has been registered under IPC section 489 rw 34 (selling counterfeit currency notes) against the accused.
