Four killed, 15 hurt in bus collision

Four bus passengers including two women were killed and at least 15 others injured when an RTC bus belonging to Karnataka hit a Telangana state-run bus in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana today, police said.
The incident occurred at around 11 AM near Choudarpalli area of the district when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus rammed into the side portion of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus resulting in death of four passengers travelling in the Telangana bus and injuries to 15 others in both buses, they said.
"The bus-driver of KSRTC who was consuming pan masala and was repeatedly spitting from the window and despite being warned by passengers he continued to do the same.

"The KSRTC bus was apparently running on a high speed and when the TSRTC bus came on the opposite direction and he suddenly hit that bus on the side," Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Murthy told PTI over phone.
The KSRTC bus was on its way to Raichur in Karnataka from Hyderabad via Mahabubnagar while the TSRTC bus was proceeding to Mahabubnagar from Raichur, he said.
"The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and condition of three bus passengers is serious," the DSP said, adding the KSRTC bus-driver has been taken into custody.
Further probe is on, he said.
