Four Maoists surrender in Kondagaon

Four Naxals, including two women, surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kondagaon district today citing "sexual exploitation" of women members by senior cadres, a senior official said.
They also claimed "torture" of villagers by their senior comrades.
"The surrendered cadres were identified as Sukku Ram Nareti and Massu Ram, besides two women. They were working as Jan Militia members," Kondagaaon ASP Surjit Atri told PTI.
The rebels, who turned themselves in before senior police officials, said that senior Maoist leaders were involved in sexual exploitation of lower-rung cadres and in torturing villagers, the ASP said.
As per the policy of Chhattisgarh government, necessary assistance will be provided to them, he said.

Interestingly, six naxals, including two women, had surrendered before police in insurgency-hit Dantewada and Kanker districts yesterday, citing "disappointment" with the Maoist ideology and exploitation of lower rank cadres by senior leaders.
