Superintendent of Police (rural) Surendra Pratap Singh, said the incident took place in Rajthal village of the district late last night. Police have taken the body of the victim, Sarita, into custody.
Those arrested are Pappu (Sarita's husband), Rampal (father-in-law), Maya (mother-in-law) and Kallo (sister-in-law), against whom cases have been registered, police said.
Singh said the cases were registered after a complaint by the father of the deceased woman.
"The father of the deceased in his complaint had stated that his daughter (Sarita) was married to Pappu almost seven years ago. But her in-laws were unhappy and continued to demand dowry from her. He alleged her in-laws killed her last night," the SP (rural) said.
