Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) (II) Kuashalesh Kumar passed the order convicting the four persons, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of murdering one Manju Devi for dowry.
The four sentenced to life imprisonment included the victim's husband Ganesh Sao, father-in-law Baleshwar Sao, mother-in-law Bachi Devi and brother-in-law Dineshwar Sao.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them for destruction of evidence in the case, Public Prosecutor Devanand Prasad said.
As per the FIR, Manju Devi, who got married in 2013 to Ganesh Sao of Narhat Bazar area under the Narhat police station of Nawada district, was constantly tortured and was burnt to death for her failure to meet her in-laws' demand for Rs 1 lakh as dowry on November 21, 2014.
