Ahmednagar district drowned in the Girna dam near here, police said today.
The mishap occurred last afternoon when the deceased, part of a marriage party from Kopargaon, entered the waters to beat the summer heat, they said.
While one of them started drowning, others rushed to save him but died in the effort, police said.
The deceased were identified as Amol Devre (20), Vishal Shinde (22), Santosh Tate (19) and Gaurav Jadhav (17).
Their dead bodies were fished out last night by Fire Brigade personnel, police said.
