The incident took place last night and police arrested four accused, including two youths for abatement, early today.
"The victim and her 22-year-old boyfriend, who belong to a nearby Kollur village, had come to Vemuru railway station last night to catch a train. They had run away from home and planned to tie a knot as their parents were opposed to their marriage," Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Tenali, K Sowjanya said.
When they reached the railway station, four youths aged between 20 and 25 years posed as policemen and searched their belongings. Later, they took away the girl to a desolate place, where two of the youths sexually assaulted her and two others aided them, she said.
According to Sowjanya, the four accused, one of which is an Army jawan, have been booked under the stringent Nirbhaya Act and they would be produced in a local court tomorrow.
Further investigation is on.
