Although police have registered a case in this connection, no arrest has been made so far.
"It is a suspected case of molestation and we are trying to ascertain certain aspects in this case. This is a sensitive case and we are working consciously," said a senior police official.
The incident took place in Timarpur area where the victim lives with her mother, who is a government servant.
"It all came to light Thursday afternoon when the girl returned to her home and revealed to her mother that the cab driver had done something to her while on the way to school.
Police got the girl counselled with the help of an NGO and registered an FIR in this connection under the POCSO Act.
A complaint was also given to the Delhi Commission for Women in this connection.
