Free Spirit Film Festival ends,'Koan of Spring' wins best film

The 9th edition of the Free Spirit Film Festival concluded here with 'Koan of Spring' directed by Lou Ma Ho bagging the top honour.
A total of 19 films were screened at the Tibetan Children Village, Mecleodganj.
'Arise' by Pema Dhondup had its India premiere at the festival. Dhondup, who came all the way from Los Angeles, presented the film and won the best director trophy.
Dhondup also won the special jury prize.
Director of the organising committee of Free Spirit Film Festival, Lobsang Wangyal, announced the names of films that won awards.
The award for best screenplay went to Sanjay Arora for 'Once Again' (Phir Wahi), Olvier Cohen-Bacri won best cinematography for 'Koan of Spring'.

The best documentary honour went to 'Illusive Peace in Kashmir', 'Villari' directed by Prashant Vanjani bagged the best short film award.
16-year-old director Ninad Kulkarni received a special mention for his film 'Connection Failed'.
The audience award went to 'Tofael - the Tea Stall Boy' directed by Minhazur Rahman Nayan.
