Freight rates for select destinations fall

Freight rates for ten-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks amid reduced cargo movements.
Transporters said heavy position of trucks in the markets amid restricted cargo movements mainly pulled down freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Mysore, Bangalore and Kochi rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 66,000 and Rs 76,000, respectively.
Rates to Pondicherry and Thiruvananthaiuram also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000 and Rs 78,000, respectively.
