Freight rates for select destinations up on cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 500 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on pick up in cargo movements amid less availability of trucks.
Transporters said increased cargo movements agaisnt tight position of trucks largely pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Freight rates from Delhi to Kanpur, Ahmedabad and Baroda were higher by Rs 500 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 26,000, respectively.
