Freight rates up on better cargo movements, shortage of trucks
Press Trust of India New Delhi Freight rates for the nine-tonne payload section for select destinations enquired higher by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following pickup in cargo movements along with less position of trucks.
Transporters said increased cargo movements and tight availability of trucks mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Baroda freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 34,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 23,000.
Rates to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Gwalior also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 16,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 13,000.
