The night temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 0.3 degrees Celsius, an increase of 5.2 degrees compared to last night which was the coldest of this winter, a MET official said today.
Kargil town in frontier region of Ladakh was the coldest recorded place in the state where mercury settled at minus 15.8 degrees Celsius.
The nearby Leh town also showed a considerable increase in night temperature with the minimum settling at minus 12.6 degrees C compared to Monday night's minus 17.8 degrees Celsius.
The MET official said the minimum temperature in the skiing resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir was minus 4.2 degree Celsius
