"Friday the 13th (2017)" was earlier slated for May 13, 2016 release while November 13, 2015 was set for "Rings", reported Aceshowbiz.
Now, "Friday the 13th" will face off against Sony's adaptation of Stephen King's "The Dark Tower", Lionsgate's "Power Rangers", Gerard Butler-starrer "Geostorm" and 20th Century Fox drama "Hidden Figures".
David Bruckner ('Southbound') will direct "Friday the 13th" with a script penned by Nick Antosca.
Michael Bay will produce alongside Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller. Plot details and cast members have yet to be announced.
"Rings" stars Aimee Teegarden and Johnny Galecki. With F. Javier Gutierrez serving behind the lens, the horror movie is currently in post-production.
David Loucka, Jacob Aaron Estes and Akiva Goldsman penned the screenplay. Guillermo del Toro is also involved as executive producer.
