FTAPCCI has proposed establishment of two incubation centres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) has submitted proposals to NITI Aayog for starting incubation centre in the area of manufacturing and engineering for Telangana while for Andhra Pradesh the centres will focus on Agriculture and allied industries.
"We have applied to NITI Aayog for starting two Incubation Centres -- one in Telangana and another in Andhra Pradesh. Once we get approval from NITI Aayog we will start them. We are expecting NITI Aayog to approve our application in next three to four months," FTAPCCI President Ravindra Modi told reporters here today.
"For Telangana, the Incubation Centre will be set up in Hyderabad while it will be established either in Vijayawada or Visakhapatnam. In Telangana, we have selected to set up the Incubation Centre in the area of manufacturing and engineering because it is the strength of the state. For AP we are intending the Incubation Centre in the area of Agriculture and allied industries like food processing and sea food industry," he explained.
NITI Aayog will give a grant of Rs 10 crore for establishing each Incubation Centre over a period of five years, Modi said, adding "we have to provide matching grant.
"We have that sort of infrastructure and skill to start the Incubation Centres. There is no restriction on the number of start-ups in the upcoming Incubation Centres."
"FTAPCCI, turned 100 this year and we are celebrating our centenary year. President Pranab Mukherjee will address us during his southern sojourn in December this year," Modi added.
"To take FTAPCCI forward, we want to make the industry body 'Knowledge Chamber' and we will be conducting lot of studies and research on various subjects and suggest to our members and the government (in formulating industrial policies).
