"We have automated some of the pumping stations. This is to ensure that there is no fraud or adulteration. Suppose if you are giving Rs 500 to petrol pump employee and if he does not fill fuel for that amount, it is possible to catch him..", BPCL Head-Retail (South), Santhosh Kumar said at the inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week here.
According to a company statement, BPCL has installed automation systems at 888 retail outlets and the total network of automated retail outlets as of last financial year was 4,408.
"Internally, we are also thinking of taking the decision process online so that it brings in efficiency and transparency. Moreover, it also reduces delay in taking decisions to some extent", he said.
