Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should resign taking "moral responsibility" for the alleged irregularities in AAP's funding details.
Kejriwal was at the forefront of raising questions on political donations and now is the time he should own up moral responsibility for "fudged" funding details of AAP and resign as Delhi CM, Tiwari told a press conference.
"He should ponder on this and further taking into consideration the letter written by his political guru Anna Hazare, he should own responsibility, apologise to the people and resign," he said.
BJP has been saying all along that the "funding details" of AAP are "fudged" and the latest revelations have vindicated its stand, he said.
The Income Tax department has issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party, citing discrepancies in the donors' list submitted to tax officials and what had been put up on the party website.
Terming the notice as "malicious", AAP alleged that the BJP-led NDA government is harassing the party and targeting its donors.
The list of donors was removed from the website of AAP to "hide the manipulations", Tiwari alleged.
