Gadkari says political conspiracy against govt over land bill

In a scathing attack on Opposition over land bill, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today said a political conspiracy has been hatched to paint the image of BJP government as "pro-corporate" and "anti-farmer" and alleged a section of media is highlighting it.
He also challenged them to prove at least a single point in five amendments that is against farmers.
"It is being created in the mind of people that we are against them. We are pro-corporate and pro-businessmen and we are against farmers, we against scheduled caste and scheduled tribes. This is a political conspiracy which is going on," the Road Transport and Highways Minister said at Mindmine Summit here.

He said a political conspiracy has been hatched to paint the image of the government as "pro-corporate" and "anti-farmer" which was wrong, while a section of media, particularly the English media, is highlight it.
The people of the country are mature enough to understand things and this reflected in the huge mandate in favour of BJP, he added.
He said "some politicians" are creating confusion in the mind of people to stall development.

"As far as the Land Acquisition Bill is concerned, five amendments are there and not a single amendment is against the farmers.
"Some people and some politicians are creating problems to stop the process of development. They are creating political confusion in the mind of the people about this land acquisition bill," he said.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday had sharpened his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing his "suit-boot" government of being pro-industrialists while ignoring the plight of farmers and farm labour.
In the second attack a day after his speech at farmers rally on Sunday where he prised the Modi government of being anti-farmer and pro-industrialists, the Congress leader made repeated jibes playing on the words 'ache din (good days) government' and 'suit-boot sarkar' and claiming it had failed.
