Delhi-based Gambhir started his career by playing for Chand Khanna Cricket Club.
The Duleep Trophy will be played from August 23 to September 14 at Greater Noida International Cricket Stadium.
"Chand Khanna Club felicitated Mr Gautam Gambhir on being selected to lead India Blue Team in the Duleep Trophy matches," the club said in a release.
Chand Khanna Club secretary Shashi Khanna and BCCI and DDCA vice president C K Khanna felicitated the cricketer.
