The accused were coming to Gurgaon in a car when the police asked them to halt but instead of stopping, they opened fire on the officials, Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk said.
The police party headed by Sub-inspector Praduman retaliated and overpowered the accused, he said.
One of the accused Dharmendra received bullet injury on his leg in the firing, police said, adding that he has been admitted to a hospital.
The other accused have been identified as Rahul, Yogendra and Deepak, all aged around 25 years, they said.
An FIR has been registered against the four under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 of the IPC and under Arms Act, the Commissioner added.
