Mukherjee alongwith Power minister Manish Gupta, Sunderban Affairs minister Manturam Pakhira and Minister of State for Minority Affairs Giasuddin Mollah held the meeting with the Sabhadipati, District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other top officials of South 24 Parganas, officials said.
The Panchayat minister directed the South 24 Parganas to install more CCTV cameras during the mela, repair the roads which are in bad shape and also instructed that more boats and ferrys be made available during the Mela, they said.
The total budget for arrangement for the Gangasagar mela is pegged at around Rs 50 lakh, they added.
