Vipul, who had been carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on information leading to his arrest, was nabbed last night, along with his associate Shatru Balyan, Shamli Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Sharma told PTI today.
Four pistols and more than 100 cartridges were seized from their possession, he said.
Thirty-seven cases, including that of the murder of BJP Raja Balmiki in Saharanpur district, have been pending against Vipul.
The injured policemen were sub-inspector Sunil Kumar, head constable Dabas and constable Vikas. They suffered bullet injuries and were admitted to a hospital.
