Najafgarh-based gangster Tinu Chhariya has been arrested, along with his aide Mohit Kataria, in connection with the murder of a gym instructor, police said today.
Tinu and Mohit were arrested from near Salahkul Mandir of Kakrola in the south west Delhi last week following a tip-off, Joint Commissioner (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav said.
Tinu and Mohit were involved in several cases of extortion and murder in Najafgarh, Chhawla and Baba Haridas Nagar areas.
Tinu was close to the dreaded gangster of Najafgarh Manjit Mahal and worked with him against their rival gangs of Navin Khati and Vikas Langarpuria, said the officer.
Mohit had been on the run after murdering a gym trainer in the area in October last year over personal enmity. Another gang member, Sudhir Mandra, has earlier been arrested in connection with the murder.
