"It's a good comeback for Harbhajan. Hope he uses the opportunity to cement his place in the team," Ganguly said about Harbhajan, who has represented the country in 102 Tests and 228 ODIs.
On the back of a fine outing for champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Harbhajan had earlier returned to the Test fold for the one-off series in Bangladesh.
Bengal batsman Manoj Tiwary, who had been struggling with injuries for quite a some time, has also been recalled into the side to be led by Ajinkya Rahane.
"It's good news for Tiwary. I wish him good luck for the series," Ganguly added.
Meanwhile, the Cricket Association of Bengal today named Wriddhiman Saha as the captain of a new look 15-member side for their pre-season KSCA Invitational Tournament in Bengaluru from July 15.
